What will be the plan of introduction.

~ She is segregated tonight as usual, the temps are cold again. Tomorrow morning we are simply going to open the gates and let her transition, mingle, etc. as she feels fit. For the next few days i will spend the majority of the day watching and making sure she knows where the basics are, water, shade, etc. She comes from a large group, there were five other aldabras at her last home. We do not anticipate any issues.

Spectacular Greg. I wonder if she will lay fertile eggs next season. You think that's long enough for her to feel secure in your group? Would be curious to know how quickly an animal like this knows it's "secure" to procreate.

~ Probably not, our experience is they can take several years before they eggs after relocating. She is being mated regularly and we have seen several successful events, however our main concern is keep her fed good, hydrated and minimize her stress for a while. She is doing fantastic and seems to be gaining weight! She was an active consistent egg layer at her previous location, however no males for fertility.

~ Time will tell, all seems good so far. The fact she is lifting and receptive to our males mating her is a big plus at this stage!
