Is dichotomous earth is safe to use around the torts and in their enclosure? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I have ants little sugar ants. They don't seem to bother the torts BUT they bother me. Any other ideas for getting rid of the little pests?

Yes just make sure its the food grade type. There is food grade and pool filter type. The pool filter type has fiberglass in it.

Yes DE is safe as long as you use food grade, not the stuff used in swimming pools. There is a product called Terro ant killer that I use, and it gets rid of them quick. I set some either in the enclosure where the torts can't get to it, or near their path to the enclosure. and it works.

I use DE all the time. Safe and works great.
