Are Aldabra Tortoises very destructive? I'm considering getting one and wanna make some changes to my Yard if they are. I'm mostly worried about them knocking my Fence down.

For mine, not really. Quite gentle.

My first question will be, are you planning to purchase big adult aldabra? If not, then I don't think you need to improve your fence :D

I remember Kelly just prepare some big enclosure for aldabra and galapagos, but I think he prepares it for adult ones and reinforced the fence well. Also Greg has more aldabras than any members here so he can share you his opinion too, but I think my 2 years aldabra is pretty sweet :)

* Smaller ones not so bad, larger ones can be. They like to "snug" down into bushes and into the ground, sometimes destroying the plants and grass. Avoid any obstacles that they would need to negotiate, like water pipes, etc. They are very strong and tend to attempt to push thru things instead of turning or going around them!
