Hi all,

Lately, I've noticed that my tortoise makes a noise when eating (or opening and closing his mouth). It's almost like teeth clacking together.

As I was watching him eat, I noticed there is a point in his bottom beak. Sorry the picture isn't clear, was having trouble taking a pic with 1 hand and feeding him at same time. He really hates the camera haha.

I haven't seen much about an overgrown bottom beak, so I wasn't sure. I took him to the vet, but they said not to worry since he's still active and eats as usual.

Do you think this is cause for concern? And is there anything you suggest?

Thanks in advance!

Greetings. Do you provide any cuttlefish bone? If not, you might want to toss your Sully one or two. There might be a bit if overgrown beak catching that the cuttle bone will help grind down.

Hi,

I'll try hand feeding it to see if he'll eat it this time. Last time someone gave me one to try, he ignored it completely (and then stomped all over it lol).

Thank you for the idea!
