This is a one day old CB aldabra hatchlings that was produced at our breeding program located in SW Florida. Our aldabra hatchlings are about 2.5 inches and usually between 45 and 60 grams when they first exit the egg. They grow about .5 inches within the first thirty days. All of our aldabra hatchlings are brownish at first and turn blackish within the first ten days from pip.

It's amazing to see a hatchling and know the size it will turn out to be.
Very cute!

Beautiful thing to see! I would really like to see a picture with one of these beside, or on top of your biggest adult. That would be extremely cool to see.

* Because in the wild they stay inside the nest until they all climb out together giving them the time for full development.
