It looks like deadnettl to me..
Everywhere around here. RIght out in the open in full sun, or tucked away in the shade. And it seem to grow with or without water. I've been pulling it up and throwing it in the trash for years.Hmm. That is true. A Lochroma question, perhaps. They are related and I find the Tortoise Table’s caution on horehound a bit unsupported, but best to avoid until one is certain in that case. Thank you for pointing that out.
Where do you find that growing in your area @Tom? In the shade or everywhere? I see very little of dead nettle or its relatives around here unless I go up a bit in altitude/dampness. Just curious; I will want to look for it.
I will get home twenty minutes and check it out. Until then, is horehound safe? Cause I already fed some to my tortoise
What is the weed depicted in post #15 on page 1 of this thread? Horehound or dead nettle?Sorry Tom, is the question about horehound?
I can't tell. Does it make little purplish flowers and grow long spike looking things? Do a search for filaree and see if that looks like your weed. Or take a sample down to the local nursery and ask the resident plant nerd to ID it for you.
Look like you need to water that mallow patch. It is great tortoise food and you'll want to encourage more of it.

creeping charlie has more rounded edges:
mallow displays more serrated edges:
You can, but it hard to find bermuda seed that isn't tainted with all sorts of weird stuff in it. Here is the grass seed I prefer. I've done side-by-side test with this seed vs. several other seeds and seed mixes and nothing even comes close:Hey Tom, can i plant some bermuda whilst this mallow&filaree are here? That would be a great salad right?
I don't think so, but my answer will hopefully bump up your post and get someone who does know for sure. Can sullys eat the creeping charlie as well?
I read somewhere on this forum creeping Charlie is no bueno. Can sullys eat the creeping charlie as well?

So it's okay if I feed my tort that?It is some sort of "henbit" or "dead nettle"; the taxonomy of the genus Lamium is a bit upended at the moment.
I have deadnettle in my yard, my tort loves it.So it's okay if I feed my tort that?
