Star tortoises don't eat worms.

No. These are not appropriate food items for a star tortoise.

Your tortoise should be eating an assortment of the right weeds, leaves, flowers and succulents.

Yes, but mine had a few bites of it, is it okay????
Its probably not going to kill your tortoise, but its not good for it either. Soak daily for a while to help flush the by-products of protein digestion.

A lot of science and research goes into a good pellet food. They are designed specifically for target species with their diet requirements in mind. Aquatic turtles do best on a total diet that is 35%-40% protein. Tortoises should have a diet that does not exceed 15% protein in the total diet. (Forest species a bit different).

So - aquatic turtle food, or monkey food, or koi food are not at all good for a tortoise. If he ate some, it will not harm him, but there would then need to be a lot of low protein/high fiber bulk to get the total diet back under 15% protein.

Hydration is also key. WIth aquatic turtles living in an aquatic environment - they can constantly rid their systems of excess purines by dumping metabolic waste at will in the water. Urate build-up is not an issue. A tortoise is a much different story. They are "programmed" to hold onto water until they can find more and use that opportunity to "dump and refill". Bathing our tortoise helps ensure this process.
