Can any help? (Edges of shell looks thin)

Hi,

I recently adopted this tortoise.

his shell looks really thin at the ends.

Any tips?

Hello! Where "at the ends"? He looks good to me. I'm not seeing thinness anywhere.
Hi. Just mean around the edges of his shell. He just looks dry and thin.
I’m new to this so just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Looks good to me. Get him/her set up properly, hopefully both inside and out feed proper diet and he should be fine.

I see what you are talking about at the back of the marginal scutes. The color variation makes it seem thin looking. It could be new shell growth, or something that has happened in the past. As long as he is acting normal, eating, pooping and does not have any signs of RI I wouldn't worry.

I would soak your baby for 30 mins in warm water 2-3 times a week to prevent dryness and dehydration and I would also pay attention to his/her nails they are getting a bit long.
