Just for reference on my feelings, as a child every summer I had a praying mantis living in my bedroom. Few flies though.

Those are Green Aphids you see them a lot on house plants, from green houses, and outside as well. They are hard to get rid of as well. I see them a lot at the green house and plant nursery i work at. Dawn or mint or anything will not kill them, you need to get rid of the plants. The only thing that works is toxic to animals or seven dust.
