I just bought another baby Saturday and I just saw bubbles coming from its nose!?!? I saw something about it on here the other day and was hoping someone could help me figure out what's causing it and if that means it should go to the vet

The most usual cause of bubbles from the nose in a new-to-you tortoise is stress. Its very stressful on a tortoise to be uprooted from one home and plunked down in another. Just keep him warm and as stress free as possible and the bubbles should go away on their own.

If it isn't stress, then it may be a respiratory infection. You'll need to see a vet for help with that one. But warming up the habitat usually helps in this situation too.

My tort had that and it was from being to cold and it caused an Upper Respiratory Infection that did require a vet visit and 5 total antibiotic shots. Wish you the best!

Between 110 and 115 under the $60 light bulb i bought yesterday haha and nothing falls below 80.
Hopefully it is just from stress but I will definitely keep a close eye on it.
Thanks everyone!

Just make sure you keep your tort warm and give daily warm soakes. The increased temps will dry them out. Hydrate and warmth. Hope this helps.

So scared! Now the baby is sticking its neck out and gasping for air through its mouth :( I don't think it's going to make it through the night :(

This is usually caused by low night temps. What are you doing for night heat?

I have a CHE on the way but right now I'm using 2 black night heat bulbs to keep the temp above 80 in the whole enclosure.
Good news though, it seems to be doing a lot better and I don't see the runny nose as much.

I do have a question though, next to my thumb in the picture is pretty soft where I can push it in a little. Is that normal in babies? Does it get harder as they get older? Or is it not normal?
The rest of the shell is hard just that general area on both sides seems a little soft where I can push it in.

Thanks for all your help!

Here's the pics I thought they were on the last post
