Best basking bulb?

I just use a regular 65 watt incandescent flood bulb from home depot or lowes.... just raise or lower it to get ur desired basking temp

Flood bulbs are good if you get him outside enough. I brought my tortoise outside 4-5 times a week and I still used a mercury vapor bulb. It emits uva and uvb. I kept a ceramic heat emitter on a thermostat 24/7.

I use 45 or 65 watt incandescent (not LED) flood bulbs I got from ace hardware, but I have a separate HO uvb bulb and a che. I won't ever buy those expensive basking bulbs again since I have all the other areas covered

I thought I heard that the Mercury are no good for them

That’s new information to me. It was so humid in his tank that it didn’t get a chance to dry him out. I also sprayed his shell often.
