I’ve been using the same old Flukers basking lamp holder for years but don’t like the way the clamps are hard to attach to the edge of the terrarium, and would also like to adjust the height better. I’ve been looking at the BETAZOOER adjustable floor light holder:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08374M6XY/?tag=exoticpetnetw-20
And the Reptizoo version:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083WBWG1F/?tag=exoticpetnetw-20
The Amazon reviews are very mixed. Does anyone have any experience with these stands or any other recommendations? Thanks!

First order of business, stop using the clamp lamp immediately! There
have been many accounts on the Forum of clamp failures that resulted in fires and dead tortoises. I used the ZooMed brand of lamp stand for my Russian tortoise up until I built a PVC enclosure for him. It was fine for a tortoise table, but wasn’t needed once I went for a full enclosure.

I've never used either of these stands. But if you want opinions, I like the Betazooer one better. I like the larger plate on the stand to slide under the enclosure. It looks much more stable to me.

And I agree re' the clamp. They are very dangerous when they fail.

Eek! I will. It’s been super warm lately so he’s been outside. Which Zoomed stand are you talking about?

This is the one I use. I’ve got 4 of them in my enclosure and they’re awesome. As added reinforcement since my stands are inside my tortoise table, I put a heavy paving stone on the big metal plate to hold it in place. It’s worked wonderfully!

I just wish I could get them for the low price that the American petsmart is selling them for right now. Here they’re around $45/each.

this is what the box looks like…

You can make and over head framework from 2x4s or PVC pipe and hang the lights from that. Makes it easy to adjust the fixture up or down.

Get the $12 ceramic based fixtures from Home Depot. They are rated to 300 watts with a 6 foot heavy duty cord.
