That old guy sure has an awesome personality! I care for the the neighbor's desert tortoise when they are away. I have my own desert tortoises who I adore, but I am getting such a kick out of this old guy's personality. What a hoot! One day he'll run to me like a puppy, ever so happy to see me. The next day, they had workers working on their home, and evidentally he was pissed about it . He bulldozed around in a huff and was obviously mad about running out of Bermuda hay. Today he wouldn't come out of his burrow to greet me. I'd better go get some new hay and cactus pads to cheer him up. Just had to share my joy of taking care of the crazy old guy next door.

Thanks for sharing. I feel that Desert Tortoises are very personable.

Aww . . . that's a great story. Mine deserts are still juveniles and it's fun to hear how personable they will still become.
