What is the best way to get my baby Sulcata eating grass as his food right now I give him some weeds I find in the yard and spring mix topped with some shredded grass I put on top but usually he tries to abode the grass....any help?

The only way to make a tortoise eat grass is by mixing it with something it likes. I'd say chop smaller and put less grass then you add more gradually. Also, put mazuri on it lol

Baby sulcatas aren't interested in eating grass. When they get to be about 3 or 4 years old all of a sudden they realize grass and hay is something to eat. I wouldn't worry about grass just yet.

Mine is 4 months old and have always eat grass. It's easyer if the breeder starts young. I believe it's possible to make them realise it's food sooner than 3 or 4 years old but I AM NOT AN EXPERT.

My Sulcata wouldn't touch grass or weeds when he was little. I primarily fed him finely chopped up red or green leaf lettuces and radicchio. It wasn't until he was about two years old that he started showing any interest in them when I'd let him wander around the yard. Now he seems to go for any of the larger bladed grass and he absolutely LOVES red clover. He goes right after the flowers on them when he sees 'em.
