Hi everyone, new here.
I have 10 years reptile experience. It never had a tortoise before.
I got my 10 months old Hermanns baby yesterday. Bathed straight away, he (calling him he) stomped around the enclosure right away and then ate some bristly ox and dandilion. Then burrowed and went to sleep for approx 20 hours. I hade sure it was 20’C where he was sleeping. Has just woken up now (8am) I’ve warm bathed him but he didn’t move around in it like he did yesterday. Now I’ve put out some food and places him near u see the lamp ( not directly under) and he’s just sat there. Moving his head around but not moving. Occasionally making little yawns. Is this normal?
mum paranoid about a yawn not being a yawn and there being a respiratory infection. No other symptoms of it but I’m just paranoid.
It won’t let me attach a video so I screen shot the yawn.
Thank you for your advice 668E6D59-875C-4F1D-8E06-F7DD50AEE1DA.png

I think you’re right, the temp under the lamp was 32, 25 near and around and as low as 19 everywhere else. He was in the bedroom which was the coolest room in the house. Moved into the lounge on Friday where it’s really warm all the time! Hasn’t done it since! Loads of natural sun in here too on one half on the table so it’s so good now. On top soil.
