I recently rescued a Asian box turtle/ Malayan box turtle from a rep expo. They had the poor thing in a completely terrestrial environment and they need at least a 50/50 aquatic and terrestrial setup. Well she eats very nicely and basks. However her shell is brittle and flaky. Not sure what the issue is, possibly a calcium deficiency I believe but any other thoughts will be appreciated or suggestions to get her feeling better.

I think it's probably ok, however, I've never had one of those. But I know when a RES with poor care comes through the Rescue here, the top layer of keratin flakes off occasionally. It leave very pretty and bright new layer underneath.
