With the post Greg did about Tropical Storm Issac,
I was wondering with all of us in different parts of the country.
Florida and hurricanes/tropical storms, myself and the other PacNW
folks being in an earthquake and volcanic zone, wildfires in other states,
etc, what has anyone done to prepare for their torts and turtles?

We always make sure we have a 5 day supply of water for the
torts, rabbits, horses, goats and chickens as well as ourselves.
I try to always have a month of food for the critters on hand.
We'd like to up that to 10 days of water and 2 months of food.
We'd like to buy a generator before winter just in case.
Have been without power before for up to 4 days.
If you're not able to have a generator what would you do in an
emergency?

Living in the great city of Chicago and the part of the city I live. The best part, north side, i really don't have anything to worry about. All power lines have been updated, so we don't have power problems. Storms, well they last about 10 minutes if we are lucky, tornadoes, those are more in the suburbs. We did have an earth quake a few years back, nothing like others have to worry about. So no, I don't do anything to be prepared.

I like this. I have a 500 gallon propane tank for back up in the winter and the occasional super cold nights. A huge supply of water. Lots of dry food from REI. A bunch of guns and ammo. And a stock tank of extra fuel. As wrll as looking into a back up generator but they are costly. Gotta be prepped. Also the pens are surrounded by concrete so fire shouldnt get in.

Here where I am in AZ I really dont have to worry about anything but my garage is stocked with lots of food and water if something were to happen.

Not much you have to worry about in Manchester, UK! Oh except for Asda (UK Wallmart) closing at 17:00 on a sunday! :)

Looks like the eastern shore of FL will be spared. We have a generator and keep "hurricane supplies" from July 1 thru Oct. I also never let my truck get lower than 1/2 a tank of fuel.
