just got them from local breeder, are they pure breed ?
also compare to P.B , are SA P.P more hardy ? What about personality ?

Hello. I know nothing of these tortoises, but I can comment that if you got them from a "local breeder", he or she should have in some way let you know whether or not they are "pure", if you really do need to know.
They are beautiful, anyway.

So... The babies you bought certainly have the characteristics of a pure SPP (South African Leopard), but without a) knowing the exact lineage of the parent animals and b) seeing all of their clutch mates, it is impossible to tell for sure.
A breeder who produces pure SPP would proudly proclaim this, and charge about each $360- $400 for the baby rather than the $175-200 a SPB (babcocki) or mixed heritage leopard sells for.

@Tom may have more input for you.

As far as hardiness, both kinds of leopard babies should be raised in a warm, humid environment, see Tom's articles pinned above, to grow healthily and smoothly. South African leopards can be a little nore fragile as babies, but grow up to be more tolerant of cool temperatures. Babcocki basically need to be above 80 degrees even as adults to thrive.
