England,
I’m posting these pics on behalf of a friend. I apologise if I’ve posted in the wrong thread.
I believe that they are male and female but I’m not 100% sure so I said I’d find out for her. I’d be greatful if anyone can confirm. Thanks

They look to be the same gender, however, they are different species. The one on the right is a Russian. I don't know what the other one is. They should not be kept together.

They're both russians, I was mistaken. The one on the left is a lot younger, and it may be too young to sex.

I think they are both still immature. It will be a while longer before the sexes become apparent.

Regardless of sexes, they need to be living in separate enclosures. Tortoises should never live in pairs. Russians are probably THE worst about this. Very scrappy little beasts, they are.

I also agree - both males. With Testudo species (including agrionemys) I think it is a bit easier to tell earlier than other Genus. The males have that lengthwise slit look to the tail/cloaca.

They are separate now.
she had them together at first. And I told her that’s a big no no. Explained several times they need there own enclosure and there own space Or they will start fighting.
