It would be great to know of someone nearby so we could share info about area weather and natural plants.

What happened to the lion cub picture? I kind of liked that one.

(Well, not that I don't like this one, but he was special, know what I mean?)

For a while this a.m. RainsOn had a picture of her with a lion cub as her avatar.

Well, glad to have connected katrvt with tortoisetime565. LOL
I am in Fairview - NW corner of the state.
Grandpa Turtle 144, where are you? (If you don't mind saying.)
Do you know of any reptile shows/conventions during the year?
I propose we meet up sometime (maybe a halfway spot) and talk tortoise over coffee.
Okay, I've put "Simba" back as my avatar. He just seemed a bit out of place around here.

Well, I have a ton of pics from "shooting" wildlife all over this country and doing rehab.
Is there an album on this site?

We have a section called "All Other Photos." It might fit there. Or you can click on "Media" and open your own folder and add them there.

What part?! What torts do you have?
In okc proper(nw side), and just one leopard right now.

RainsOn and tortoisetime, you should join the Oklahoma city herpetological.and invertebrate society. We meet in mwc or okc, depending on the month. Pretty cool. You can find our group on Facebook for more info if you are interested.

And there should be two herp shows in the fall. I'll see if I can find dates for you.

Since you are in nw OK, you'll probably be most interested in the broken arrow shows. Google Oklahoma reptile expo. There is also a good show on the first weekend in November in okc. Called the okc elite reptile show. My Hospital has a booth at the okc shows.

I know of a few shows I'm not sure what they are called. My vet is an all around vet and he also breeds and sells all types of reptiles. I'm bought countless from him!! He was at a reptile show a while back. We could definitely meet up over tortoises!!

Tortoisetime, you must use Dr stachmus? He's a good doc, and a good person.

Added bonus: A vet's name; I need one.
Broken Arrow is in the northeastern part of the state (an easy 3 1/2 hr. drive; OKC is closer for me).
I'm going to look for a web site for OKC Elite show.
That's where we could plan to meet.

Three herp vets that I recommend readily in Oklahoma. One, Dr setser in Tulsa. Two, Dr Minson in okc(imo, best herp Vet In the state) third is Dr stachmus in south okc/moore. Dr stachmus' husbandry of his torts leaves something to be desired, for me. Still keeps his quite dry. Dr Minson also keeps his own torts and advocates the same husbandry you'll find on here. Dr Minson is at Neel Vet Hospital. -I should place a disclaimer here. I do currently also work at nvh with Dr Minson. That said, within the Vet community in Oklahoma, he is widely regarded as the best reptile Vet in Oklahoma. I sent many, many clients his way prior my boss bringing him on to work with us.

Stachmus is who I go to. He is awesome!! We have gone to him with cats and dogs for 11 years.
