Hello,

I have recently taken on 2 Marginated tortoises and I was wondering if anyone has any advice?

One is slightly bigger than the other (7 inches and 8.5 inches) and both males however I do not know the age.

They both have indentations on the underside of their shell, is this normal? Obviously I am not able to go to the vet at this time.

Thanks for your help!

I don't know about your breed, but many males do have concaved, shell on the underside, I am sure someone with more knowledge of this breed will be able to help, and say if this is infact the reason for the concaved under side,

Be sure to get them separated, if you haven’t already. Tortoises, especially males, should not be housed in pairs.

Be sure to give them frequent soaks since you just got them, especially if you don’t know about their previous housing or care. It’s important to keep them hydrated :)
