We acquired a pair of LTC G. spengleri last fall. They had lived with the same guy for over 4 years. He had kept them together and never had any luck getting them to breed. In over 4 years he never had a single egg. They have been living apart since we got them with a few conjugal visits in March and April. Well this is what I found today. A HUGE egg. I say huge because in relationship to the size of the little turtle, the egg is enormous!! Hopefully I can get the incubation right and that it is fertile.

That is great news! I got my first egg last month. Incubation is pretty straight forward, don't let it dry out , get too hot or too cold. Then wait about 70 days.

I have it set up in an incubator at 75F. Hopefully that will work.

You may get a male then. CB males are hard to come by.
Best of luck.

The expressions on their faces are priceless. They look as shocked, amazed and bewildered as you, if not more. LOL :D
Congrats. I sure hope it hatches out for you. Don't forget pics if it does.
