Recently I've joined the CHAMELEON FORUM.
They have also come to the independant general conclusion that compact, coiled UV bulbs are not worth using.
Either they're not effective at projecting UV or they pinpoint project it and cause eye issues.
So this is not some TORTOISEFORUM.ORG issue.
It's a real issue with these horrible bulbs.
In case of a Chameleon, the lamp placement would be higher, etc.
And still problematic.
I know I'm pretty much preaching to the choir here.
But I found it interesting.

Actually not new problem to the lizard/chameleon community or any reptile community. It was stated there many times when I was a semi active member back around 2012 or so.

Thanks for posting ZP. More evidence to throw on an already huge pile.
