I've decided to build another enclosure for my box turtles because it's starting to get a little crowed and this next spring I have some other babies that are ready to move outside too. Here are a few pics of my current set up and then a few of the new spot plus what the bed is planned to look like. I'm going to bury 12" blocks all the way around the fence, with that and about 8 more inches of dirt they won't dig out. It runs 10' down each side of the fence and comes out around 12' from the inside corner.

They are about to hibernate so I have plenty of time to get it the way I want.

Had a little time to work on the enclosure area today. I bought these frame pieces and had a can of spray on liner to dress them up. The wood I put in will be stained a dark brownish color to match our Pergola.

These can be stacked and you can make the wall as high as you want, I'm only going 12" and then putting a lip board over the top.

The wood will go in this weekend and after that I will dig about 6" all the way around the inside and filling the trench in with large rock to keep them from digging under. Then the fun part comes of filling it in with dirt and deciding the layout of the enclosure.

The back fence is only a year old and I'm already replacing the pickets so I will probably stain it when I stain the enclosure to match. The other side is being replaced in the spring by my neighbor.

Pleasant surprise finding two new babies in my enclosure today, so it motivated me to get this one done

Blocks are buried under the ground next to the fence and then I have six inches of gravel along the boards and the boards are in the ground about 3 inches. Monday I will put another 3" inches of top soil in and begin to look at planting items for next year.

I have the feeling this is going to be beautiful for both the turtles and you. Love the motivators.

Thanks to both of you. Unfortunately it's been raining most of the day so I haven't been able to do anything.

My 16 year old was out fishing and sent me a picture of a log he found, he told me it was perfect for the enclosure and I agree.

Awesome Enclosure!! Do you need to worry about critters with your enclosures being without a cover???
