Hello all,
I just totally thinned out my overgrown aloe plant and had a wow moment. Can I feed it to my sullys? If so I am going to be totally mad because I just threw half the plant away. :-(

Start kickin your self. Yes they can eat it, though mine don't seem overly into aloe. They just take a bite every now and again. I would imagine, if a tortoise were to eat large amounts of aloe, that the aloe, like cactus, would cause loose stools.

Yes they can.

Now you know for next time. :) I have to limit my Russian tortoise from eating too much (he would eat the whole plant at once) or else he has loose stools.

Ha ha! Yes - my Russians will devour it too, if allowed!

My leopards are tearing it up right now. My sulcatas will eat it in summer when there ain't nothin' else, but they skip it in winter when the weeds and grass are up.
