Went around to do my rounds tonight after a nap ( I had some delicious ribs that knocked me out cold at my desk?). We're expecting to drop in the mid 40's. Everyone was inside, except for my male russian tortoise, ironically named Stubs( shirt for stubborn) and another male named Boris. It's incredible how much warmer these "bunkers" are inside thanks from the insulation from the leaves. The tortoises dig down through layers upon layers of leaves until they reach dirt where they dig even deeper with just the top of their shells being exposed.

Ours is down the count as of Friday. I’m crossing my fingers we have some sun in February; I hate to keep her down longer than four months.

Mine will likely be down till April. They came out today and yesterday to drink water and soak up some rays. It's going to be warm all week so they should have time to move about.
