I am having a problem with algae in my tank, the last time I cleaned it I used a paper towel to wipe all of it off and it came off easily from my tank glass but it has come back and it’s spotted on my tank glass and all in my filter and also it shows up brown on my plants (seen in photos). I think it came from the roots of my duckweed, which came from a local pond, that had algae stuck to them but I saw my fish eat it off. How can I prevent it from coming back?

Algae will always grow. You will end up cleaning the glass every couple of weeks when you do a water change. You should change out around 10% of water every couple of weeks

Do check the water chemistry. Excess nitrates can be the cause.

We have a UV filter added to our aquarium like this which helps too.

For the stuff on the glass, getting some algae eating fish will help too!
