Hate to be the naysayer, but how do we know it isn't someone in Africa's escaped pet who happened into the ocean at that beach?
I posted about this several months ago. This tortoise was found washing up on the beach in Africa. Based upon its condition, and an analysis of the barnacles that were already attached and growing on it's shell, they could tell it was at sea in salt water for at least 6 weeks. Further analysis and comparison of ocean currents also supported an excellent guess of where it came from. Based upon its growth rate and form, it matched how the Aldabras from that island tend to grow.Hate to be the naysayer, but how do we know it isn't someone in Africa's escaped pet who happened into the ocean at that beach?
