The humidity eventually rots the chipboard wood. Even though it’s protected, humidity will find any weakness. I always put a pond liner in my vivs, but the vivs are no good after about 2 yrs.

So you paint all the interior and put pond liner in? Is there a clear colour version of the paint?

I have platic Viv that I have sealed around the edges for redfoot and it's doing well, I just hose the Coco soil and mix it all up and keeps humidity perfect. I have a melamine Viv for stars that I covered with a thick plastic like the stuff you used to put on books but alot thicker and sealed it all and it doing well at the moment but I don't spray that as much any more just pour water into the bottom of there soil tray.
