Aboveground Outdoor Turtle Pond

Hey guys here is my aboveground turtle pond I am working on for my painted turtle. This video is part 1 I will post part 2 when I finish!

I'd keep an close eye on the water temp. I live in NE Ohio and an above ground, black, preformed pond will turn the water fatally hot within a few hours in direct sunlight.

Yea I had that problem initially before I put fish in but once I put dirt around it to help insulate and put a shade cover over it it stays cool now!

Plus now I have a lot of lily pads growing to help shade it as well!

Our turtles home is above ground as well!

I'm planning something like this soon. I'm not sure if I'm going to use a stock tank or build a cinderblock base then line it with a pond liner though.
