6 month old horsefield tortoise

Hi I brought my tortoise from a pet shop when I got it they tried to sell me everything as they do he was giving me some advice and stuff but he said get a viv so I did but he also said don't put a water bowl in the viv as the humidity levels will get to high and the tortoise will get all of the water it needs from its food what should I'd do I have never had a tortoise before.

They should certainly have access to water at all times, a shallow dish so they can sit in it as well as drink from it. Vivs are not recommended, I'm sure someone else here will advise you how to house the little one.

Thanks for advice and I have viv and tortoise table and I don't know why but she is more happier in the viv for some reason

Also, if you got from a pet shop I'm sure it's not 6 moths old Pet stores usually sells juvenile russains they catch in the wild, at around 6-10 years of age.

I'm sure it is that age as it is small and there was a load of them in the tank when I got mine

So should I put a bowl in as the guy at the pet shop said it might get respertory problems
