The cricket?

They come out more neat looking. I been offered Geoemyda spengleri after buying this little baby. Truthfully I cannot afford one at the moment. Perhaps later in time when my income increase. 😥 Cuora mouhotii are like Spengleri I’ve heard.

I have way too many. My personal favorite will always be Actinemys-Western/Pacific pond turtles. They have unique coloration of markings. Big fat tails of the males. The closest thing is European Pond turtles. Man I love them. They got the body build and fat tails like Actinemys. Beautiful...

I received my Cuora mouhotii today. I am on high surveillance mood. Before, it didn’t seem active. Seems active before. I suspected maybe it cold. Until I bought a heat bulb. It ate some crickets too. Which had me more relieved.

I have an tub double the size of the aquarium. Perhaps I should opt for that as grow out stage.

I have a spare 10 gallon, what wattage bulb I should aim with a hatchling without being too hot. I have zoo med heat pad to place underneath, I was also thinking maybe attach to side since I was told underneath isn’t a good idea. 😥

I had good experience with backwater reptiles. My only issue is they are deceiving what actually available online. I ordered western painted turtles. But I was emailed they do not have any available but I could choose a substitute for another turtle. I asked if I could pay a little more for baby...

Man I would love to have them someday. They are my new dream turtle-like how spotted turtles were when I was a kid. I saw turtles&tortoise inc had one for sale…I was hoping the huge price tag would linger the game. But I missed out! :/

I liking the progress

I pay attention to floor space and volume if they are active aquatic turtles. Turtles like Spotted turtles, I pay attention more to floor space than water volume. Euro, Painted turtles, Sliders, you need to pay attention to both floor space and water volume.

I keep Euro with Painted turtles. They co-exist fine. But I think the size of their setup outdoor contributes to not seeing any tensions. If kept indoors, tub make sure the footprint is very large space. Otherwise aggression would initiate. I wouldn’t dare to keep Spotted turtles with any other...

Land portion, use organic soil. Mix it with sand if your going to have some females. Or omit the sand as mixture. Aquatic portion I use water hyacinth and Umbrella papyrus.
