    Salmonella

Hey kids, some interesting facts! Animals near you have been found to carry menengitis, leprosy, rabies, plague, etc. There are diseases everywhere on and in everything. Can't be paranoid about everything, though. Salmonella is no problem.

    Why own a snapping turtle?

Well, why does anyone anything? :P My snapper is actually "friendly." Trots over when he sees me coming toward his aquarium.

    Ploughshare , Angonoka , Yniphora

It's not legal to own, just can't import any. And there are no captive breedings in the U.S. at the moment anyway. Btw FANTASTIC on hatching some!!

    A quick Homes question.

That's not the reason I'm getting them, but it certainly is an advantage. I've always wanted hingebacks, they are unique. That's the main reason I want them...so i'll take advantage of the low cost. Of course it will cost more to keep them and treat them for parasites, etc...

    A quick Homes question.

This is the time of year they are imported. Once the quota per year goes down, they'll get more expensive. I'm getting a pair while they're cheap!

Ploughshare tortoise i am going to acquire

WOW. Haven't been to the forum in a while. So how many do you have now? 6 or 7? Keep pairs together and away from the others so you tract bloodlines....These are so so so rare.

    WHICH ONE WOULD YOU PICK

I went with "c." He looks the healthiest. If you choose C you have to give me a discount on a hatchling...lol.

OH NO A HYBRID ! MY LEPRACUTTAS

Hybrids sure have ruined the Travancore tortoise in this country. Not related to whatever you guys are talking about...lol

OH NO A HYBRID ! MY LEPRACUTTAS

I missed the good part of the debate.... Personally I don't think hybrids should be produced. If hybridization in tortoises becomes common it's going to be hard to know what's pure or not. Gonna get all muddy...
