I recently bought a Hermann’s tortoise and noticed a small ear abscess. This may be a dumb question but do you put the oil on the abscess or feed it to the tortoise? I’d like to try this before going to the vet. Thanks
Hi. Im looking for a male cherryhead and someone is selling this but Im not sure of the sex. The seller says male but I trust the opinion of people here. Thanks
I have 3 Hermann's tortoise babies available. They are 10 weeks old, healthy and active. Eating like little pigs on a leafy green diet (mostly dandelion) and Mazuri. Bathed every other day. Located in the GTA. Asking $500 each.
I have 2 females now and their plastrons are much more 'U' shaped but I know females may have male characteristics and it can be hard to tell and I'm no expert.....
This tortoise is being sold as a 5-6 year old cherry head and I'd like opinions on the sex (and if it is a actually a cherry head). Is this a male or female? (I'm looking for a male)
Thank you for any help
Terri
There is another female available that I want to buy. I was planning on having more than 1. If the male gets too aggressive, I know I will have to separate him from the female (s).
....I'm in Canada - adult tortoises are much harder to come by here than in the States. Breeders hardly ever sell their adults and we can't have them shipped from the States. Otherwise I'd just buy a proven breeder. Thanks again for your opinions.
Here's the pic of her tail. I'd really like her but I want a female that'll lay eggs. I have 2 Hermann's tortoises and the female laid her first eggs 3 weeks ago. I was so excited my husband thought I won the lottery. Now I'm hooked. What do you think? 15 years old and never laid an egg...
I'm considering buying a 15 year old red foot female. She has lived alone and never laid eggs. I was wondering if it is okay to pair her up with a male. Will she start laying eggs once she has some male companionship?
