I know. It's just like human babies. I wish you could explain to them that you are just trying to help them get better. But they just can't understand. Now they'll know me as "the mean lady with that horrible stuff!"

My tortoises Stella and Nova are taking liquid Baytril for a RI. The first 2 does went fine. But the last two doses Nova had, she flipped out after she got it. It was like she was on steroids. She was moving so quickly and running wildly. It was really weird. Stella doesn't seem to like it but...

Nova seems a little worse today. She is "clicking" more. I also noticed Stella's saliva seems sticky. Neither has much of an appetite. It took me about an hour but I eventually got antibiotics into both of them today. I also gave them both a carrot soak. How long does it usually take these meds...

I've got their thermostat set at 90. I tried to give it in food but they wouldn't take it. I'm going to try it in a small piece of soaked Mazuri after their soak in the morning, before I feed them.

Update: Looks like it was RI. I saw a bubble come out of Luna's sister, Nova's nose this morning. Also noticed the clicking sound when she eats. Luckily I was able to get her and Stella (the other sister) into the vet today. I was given an antibiotic (Enrofloxacin) oral drops. It was super hard...

It's funny you mention high humidity. About 10 days ago I was on here trying to figure out how to get the humidity up because it was too dry.

She has made that sound a couple of times in the past while eating. One time she was drinking and the water came right back out of her mouth. Do you think maybe she had some kind of a problem with her throat, like a cyst? And maybe it just got worse over time?

Yes, I use a thermostat with the heat mat. It is pretty small it covers less than 1/3 of the tank. I only use it at night. It comes on if it drops below 78 degrees. My breeder told me not to use a CHE. So this was the only thing I could think of.
