Unfortunately my situation has changed and I don't have the time to devote to my little guy like I would like. I would love to re-home him with someone who can provide for him better. His hatch date is 05/07/2016, so he's almost 3 yo, very active and healthy. He's never been a fan of his soaks...
My living and financial situation has changed since I got my baby Russian and I no longer have as much room and funds for him as I would have liked to. I don't have to relocate but if there is someone near me or willing to travel to me that could provide better for him, I would. I'm located near...
I'm building a new enclosure for my baby Russian that will last him until he's full grown. I came across the picture below which is what I'm basing my new enclosure on, I just have one question: how wide and tall should the door be? How tall and wide do Russians normally get?
I would do that, but I just moved a few weeks ago and have no idea what happened to the receipt in the process. I've been told that petsmart can look up the receipt and will replace the bulb within six months so I'm going to see if I can do that
Franklin has been acting very sluggish for a couple days and at first I didn't think anything of it. But it continued so I started to check things out, when I checked his bulb with the UVB card it didn't change colors like normal. I haven't had Franklin two months yet and the bulb was bought a...
Franklin is two and half months old and just the other day I noticed when he bites down his jaw squeaks. I've read that this can be normal if there are no other signs of ill health. He doesn't appear to be in pain and still "runs" to eat, so I'm thinking maybe it's nothing but I also worry that...
I will be going on vacation in August for about 3.5 days and am taking Franklin with me so I'm just looking for any advice that may be helpful. I plan to take a large Rubbermaid with coco coir (that's what he has in his regular enclosure), a small spider plant, his lamp, and maybe something else...
I recently moved so I had to switch out the substrate in the enclosure. I had peat moss in it and just switched to coco coir since it's less messy but it isn't heating up to the right temperature, does anyone know why this would be??
So I've done a little searching for night boxes and will do plenty more before I build one, but I do have a couple questions. For Russians, does the box need to be heated and/or cooled? I've seen where Tom has an underground "basement" for his Russians, I'm just curious if that would be sufficient.
Oh I'm not really new here but thanks! I've posted pictures before and I know it's too small for an adult, that's why I'm trying to come up with some solution before he gets big. This is what it looks like:
My Russian baby has a fully built indoor enclosure that will last him until he gets bigger, but I've moved to a smaller house and his enclosure is large for the space so I won't be able to fit a bigger indoor enclosure. I want to build him something outdoors, my only concern is I live in...
Thanks everybody! That makes me feel better, I will probably get some calcium powder just to be safe. He does have a cuttlebone but the vet didn't seem to approve.
Would anyone have an idea of how to get him to eat a bigger variety? He'll eat some grocery greens like spring mix, kale, and...
We had our first vet appointment yesterday. He didn't have too much to say, but he did tell me George was illegal due to his size which I wasn't aware of since I've seen so many places selling hatchlings (he hatched May 7th).
He also said that I should be sprinkling calcium powder everyday as...
