Could you possibly give a link to the specific thermostat you have? I know about progressive thermostats and on/off thermostats, but I am not familiar with dimming thermostats. If it is a progressive, you should be able to program it for a different temperature at night, or to shut off...
Does it make ANY sense that someone would throw sour milk on a tortoise? That is a stupid explaination. There is absolutely no reason that anyone would throw anything on your tort like that unless he wanted to harm it in some way. I can’t believe the police didn’t at least make a formal...
I ship 40+ animals through FedEx every year. It is very stressful every single time. Even though they get there safely even when there is a glitch, it is still gut wrenching.
Glad to see you caught the bug Tom. For some reason, BTS become very addicting for many people. I think it is largely due to the wide range they cover from fairly common species to some that are very rare (outside of Autralia). At the same time, they are all extremely easy to keep, and...

These are not the least expensive, but I absolutely love them. I have used them for years, and currently have about a dozen of them. www.spyderrobotics.com
I have used CHE’s in ceramic domes including this exact one for many years with no problems. I have heard people claim that CHE’s need wire domes, but as long as you use a ceramic fixture rated for at least the wattage of your CHE, you should be fine.
I have been feeding this mixed with Mazuri 1-2 times a week for 3 years now. All of my leopards and Burmese Stars love it. I don’t know the science of it, but my torts are all doing great. I get mine from www.coastalsilkworms.com as well.
Beautiful lizards! I have loved Abronia for a long time. www.projectabronia.com. is a good site for them too.
Tom, if you would have stuck around for the Phoenix Reptile Expo after the TTPG conference, you could have seen these again!
