Are you able to gently flex his foot forward and backward? Does he react at all when you do? Is he still walking around a relatively normal amount, or is he noticeably inactive? Eating fine?

Recently, Curtis made a pile so large that my parents had to text me pictures because they were worried it was from a coyote or some kind of huge animal. I don't know how they fit all of it in there, much less get it out!

To be fair to the tortoises, I’ve tried aloe before offering it to my sulcata. Super bitter, kinda nasty (to me, anyway). Understandably, he didn’t eat it either.

If it’s sunny and above 55 or so, I usually take my Russian out until it’s down to 50 or below. If it’s above 60 and sunny, he definitely goes out. If the overnight low is 50 or higher and it’s not going to rain, I keep him out through the night. If it’s above 70ish, I usually just keep him out...

Actually, are you entirely sure it couldn’t have been done by the predators you mentioned? They should still be separated, of course, but I would wonder if it wasn’t done by a raccoon, rat, or cat.
