i was trying to be a "mean" keeper, but they stopped eating completly. & i didn't want to not feed them. so i gave the ever so loved fruit loops a try & they chowed down. they're made with fruits & veggies. they're pellets you mix with fruit juice or water.[hr]
we're in the process of...
we have them seperate now, but the girl who was tort sitting had them together. & we are building cages with tops because of pedators. we had one built before, but we tore it down because my cousins fell on to it & broke the lid, while they were horse playing. >:|[hr]
yeah, austin area...
what size/wattage heat emitter should i get for my baby torts? i have a 4" leo & a 6 1/2" red foot.
well i guess i should ask if they can even stay outside in [texas] winter. or is it too cold for them being so small?
yeah, she seems fine. except for the fact that she hesitated to eat from my hand. since i got her, she's always grabbed food right out of my hand. & she even jumped when i touched her. i just don't think the girl played with them that often. but she seems real healthy.
i have a 6 1/2" red foot, zoe, & a 4" leopard, alfred. i think the red foot is anywhere from 3 - 5 years old & my leo is just over a year. his birthday is in january. i know the guy who hatched him. i got him at just 3 weeks old.
i can get a picture up, yes. i'm heading out to get them food now. i only got them back late last night & i've been at work all morning. i have no idea what temp she had them at. nor do i know how she had them housed. i know she had them inside for a while cause it was still too cold here to put...
this girl waas taking care of my baby, alfred, when my husband was in the hospital & i didn't have much time to devote to my torts since i was working A LOT. now that i have him back, his eyes are glossy & look funny. they seem to be over watery, i guess. what can i do to fix this?
to finally have my babies back. my husband went to the hospital for 2 weeks & i had to work 2 jobs & could hardly see him cause they sent him to a hospital.
this girl asked me if she could take care of my torts for me to help me out. so i said yes. my husband's been out of the hospital since...
we haven't been keeping our environment too moist cause before we got her, our redfoot had developed shell rot from bedding that was too moist. she couldn't walk in result of too long without sunlight. she had grown really weak. she's still recovering from that so we don't want to moisen it too...
yes, they are housed together. we had them in a rather large enclosure outside so they rarely crossed paths, now it's a little tighter.
i have a (i'm guessing on age) 3 year old red foot & a 10 month old leopard. we're not sure of the temperature in the enclosure cause it's our first winter...
i brought my tortoises inside cause of a hurricane watch a few months ago. now, it's getting real cool. so i've kept them inside cause it's getting too cold for them. since then, they haven't been eating as much as they normally would. & near as much as they should be eating.
& my leopard's...
thanks.
my fiance & i nursed her back to health.
when we got her she couldn't walk & had bad shell rot.
it was being treated though.
now she's up & running now & just loves us.
i'll go sit in her cage & she'll come sit with me.
she's marvelous.
