I think my Lerato is dead.

My Lerato might be dead. I went to grab her out to soak her and normally she comes out of her shell to see what's going on. She was tucked. The temperatures in the enclosure was perfect and I feed her daily. I introduced her to dandelions from a local farmer's market and I hope there was no...

    Growing beautifully before my eyes.

I went on my 3 week Army annual training and had my family take care of my little baby and she grew exponentially! Lerato was 176 grams when I left and I just weighed her today and she's 271 grams!!!

    Lerato's growth

My baby has been growing nice and steady. She's now at 176 grams! What a little eating machine! She's around 7 months old. I soak her everyday since I've gotten her for 30 min each time.

    Lerato is soaking.

I'm assuming my Lerato is very comfortable in her/his daily soaks. I love my little Leo. Growing well.

    Small gnats infestation.

I've noticed that I have these little tiny gnats/flies in my enclosure. I'm going to change the substrate out, but was wondering how I could prevent this in the future. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

    Somebody rescue these Russians!

This just came up in my email. They're being kept in horrible conditions. The website is in the pictures. I'd take them, but I have a leopard already and I won't be in Florida until 5 years from now. It also states that they're males and are approximately one year old. I highly doubt that the...

    Sleepy head!

Lerato is one tired leopard! She had some sun, a nice soak, and now taking an afternoon siesta under the basking light. I love my tortoise.

    Is this normal growth?

My Lerato has been gaining weight weekly. I weigh her every Thursday early evening after her 20 min of sun, 30 min soak, and big poop. I feed her once a day about two times her size and I vary her diet with cactus, hibiscus leaves/flower, wheat grass (she doesn't seek this out, but it's cut...

    Shell getting lighter

Lerato's shell seems to get lighter by the day. I'm liking it. She might take after her mom, Freckles. I love my tortoise! Pictured is of her grazing on grass and the second is of her mom.

    Comical

It's comical how some people back in 2009 believe that it's okay to house different species together and forego expert opinion on the matter. I wonder how many are still tortoise owners or have the same ones as they did 9 years ago. I'd venture to say that's it's probably 25% or less. It seems...

    Wheat grass

Is there a limit of how much my leopard can eat wheat grass? I do vary her diet, but can this be a daily staple?

    Pics of Lerato

1st pic: Lerato checking out the new stone named after her. 2nd pic: Eating her cactus and hibiscus leaves and flower. 3rd pic: Exploring her new environment. I added the large bamboo shoots that I cut into 8 inches and just draped it across. It was free from my work as i sometimes...

    Calcium/Vitamins

I alternate days sprinkling a pinch of calcium and vitamins on Lerato's food. Is this okay or am I overdoing it? And will it harm her if I continue this trend? I do take Sundays off where I don't put anything in her food. She gets daily 30 minute soaks and at least 5 days a week she gets 20...

    LERATO!

I'd venture to say Lerato is content with her daily soaks. Her/his hatch date was April 21, 2018 and I got her on August 1st from @Elohi. It's been over 2 weeks since I got her and she's eating, pooping, and as active as can be. She's gained 8 grams so far I've had her. She's currently at 68...

    Great find!

I'm in South New Jersey and in my travels happen to come across this little Mexican store and I was hoping to find Nopales, Spineless prickly pear cactus, Opiunta, or whatever you call it and what's the first thing i see on the counter? These cacti!!! I'm assuming it's tortoise safe considering...

    Is this spring mix safe?

I wanted to get a spring mix, but some contain spinach. Is this particular one safe for leopards?

    Safe grass?

So today I took my baby leopard, Lerato, out for some sun and a buffet of my lawn. I'm wondering if the grass surrounding her is safe to eat. I enclosed a picture. The grass has never been treated. She's only out under the sun for no more than 15 minutes and was supervised every second. She...

    UVB/ SUNLIGHT???

I know it's been discussed in 2010 about sunlight/UVB and Vitamin D absorption, but how much is too much? I've been soaking/sunning my LERATO for 30 minutes a day and was wondering how much beneficial UVB/Vitamin D does she get in those 30 minutes? Does every 15 minutes equivalent to being under...

    A few questions.

Hello everybody! I'm a new leopard dad and I was wondering which attachment is my hygrometer and which is my thermometer? One is larger than the other. I also want to know the placement of each as well. Should I place it somewhere else than where I have it now? The enclosed picture is my...

    Mix breeds???

In the future, I'm most likely going to get another Leopard. I currently have a Babcocki, but was wondering if I can get a South African or two to cohabitate. Is that possible? Will they get along or will the larger species bully my current one? I know the ratio is one male to two females, but...
