It's really hard growing plants in the enclosure if you maintain appropriate humidity levels. Plants tend to get root rot, too much or too little UVA/UVB depending on distance from your bulb, and too much heat if close to a heat bulb. Tortoises also just trample everything. Maybe never live in an aquarium smaller than 40 gallons? It just seems like the worst tort stories involve them being raised in a 10 or 20 gal tank so I'm trying to discourage that.
