My box turtle hasn’t eaten in like 3 weeks. I’m sure he’s finding his food elsewhere. There are a lot of snails and worms in his pen right now. He is such a picky eater. He won’t touch any fruits, much less veggies.
My box turtle hasn’t eaten the food we have given him for almost 3 weeks now. Idk if he’s eating snails or idk what he’s eating. I did notice he lost a bit of weight but I’m hoping he will gain it back and eat again once it starts warming up again.
Yes he has 2 heat lamps on during the night the spots directly under them reach 100 degrees.
Our fire place is electric and emits a lot of warm air. So I’m hoping that gets him going
The temps are about 38 degrees at night. I made the mistake of assuming he was already inside before I went in for the night I checked one of his hiding spots but not the other.
My poor Mogali was left outside the whole night!!
We put him near the fire right now and are going to soak him...
Yea I went to reedley beach and dug it out. There's tone of it out there. I will try to take off most of the thorns. I do the same with the prickly lettuce
Hoping someone can identify what these weeds are.
I bought a tortoise seed mix from eBay a while ago and I just want to know if there are any plants here that shouldn't be fed at all or should be fed in moderation.
For example, I thought clovers are bad?
Well I was looking for Bermuda because my parents want me to make my tortoise pen all bit more aesthetically pleasing but thanks I'll look into the seed mix you like.
I don't own a redfoot. One is a Desert Tortoise that I adopted from Yvonne and the other is a box turtle my dad found years ago in my Californian neighborhood that no one reclaimed
Mogali and Oliver have finally moved into their new enclosures.
Both houses have thick plastic at the bottom and on the walls so they can't eat the insulation.
Temps can get pretty high so we have them on thermostates.
I'm so happy both know how to open their enclosure doors and go out...
