I know it's terrible, I spent so much money and I love him so much I'm scared of doing something wrong and hurting/killing him.
I'm still confused on certain things but finding my way around it all gradually haha. It's terrible
I keep my tortoise in a vivarium and have the uv light on for 12-14 hours each day.
I stayed at my boyfriends house this weekend and my parents didn't put his light back on this morning so he's been without it all through today.
Is this safe and will it make a difference?
Yeah I got a viv cause of living in the uk and temperatures just aren't high enough I was scared to get a table.
Thank you for your advice, I will try this as soon as I can find a plastic sheet. What would you suggest I use? Just a basic plastic sheet or anything specific?
Okay thank you. How would it work with the two sliding glass doors? As I wouldn't be able to staple the sheet there.
Wondering whether a vivarium was a mistake...

When I brought mine I was told that whoever is making financial gain legally has to hand over the papers, however if it given as a gift (no financial agreement) there is legal obligation for papers to be handed over. So your not owning yours illegally don't worry :)
Thank you. Oh right okay so they will be laying empty eggs that won't need to be incubated or anything? Such interesting animals & thanks for your help
Just a quick update!!!
I've just changed his substrate from that horrible wood chippings to coco coir and I am amazed at the difference!!! Instantly he was so much happier and hasn't stopped walking round his viv exploring which he didn't do before! Sounds sad but brought tears to my eyes at how...
I'm trying. I've only had him a few weeks and I already love him to bits. He's like my baby! About to start changing his substrate now to coco coir, how do I use it? I'm armed with two buckets and a dust pan and brush with no clue of what I'm doing haha :)
