I'm unable to get anymore photos of the little guy yet. I was pretty sure he suffering from MBD which is the other reason I posted the photo for someone else to confirm this. My next question. Tortoises with mbd, how is it treated and managed? I've dealt with this a lot in various different...

    Tort ID help please.

Hi again everybody!! One of the girls who I work with has rescued a tortoise ... although she has the best of intentions, she's not brilliant when it comes to caring for things properly. (I'm still fighting a loosing battle with her to put a basking spot in with her bearded dragon but that's a...

    Started dry, growth rate?

Hi everyone. I've posted on here a few times about the two Leopards I've rescued. Both have obviously been started dry due to their size and the faint pyrmiding on their shells. From what I got told about the pair, I cam estimate that one is 12 months, and the other 13. Tetley, the smaller of...

    New arrival needs a name!

So a quick update on little DG! She went on a hunger strike for days, hid away and refused to come out. Weeks later and you'd think she was a different tortoise. She's so active, her fatty lumps have almost disappeared. We're still having a few arguments with each other regarding diet. I didn't...

    Medical grade honey

I've used it before on a guinea pig. I can't quite remember the problem, but it worked a treat :)

    New arrival needs a name!

I don't plan on continuing the diet she was on, as the rest of it, alongside the pinkies, isn't brilliant! She's been a little shy but tonight has been much more active. She likes playing hide and seek under her soil and whenever I look in she's in a different place! I've had a good look on...

    Calling all red foot owners!

What do you feed them for protein? I've read some people use pinks, some rehydrate a dry low fat high meat cat food, some use raw dog food. Just trying to work out what would be the best for her :)

    Calling all red foot owners!

Hi everyone! I've caught the tortoise bug and in a few days I'll hopefully be a new mum to a yearling red foot tortoise :) My main question is diet. What do you guys feed your red foots? I've read tonnes and tonnes online but it's always nice to hear from current, experienced red foot...

Any feet/nail experts around?! Rescue Leopard yearling.

She's most certainly not being fed anymore spinach by me! She does love clover and dandelions, I was worried that I may have a problem getting her to eat but that doesn't seem to be the case so far :)

Any feet/nail experts around?! Rescue Leopard yearling.

I should of really commented on the setup I've got her in now! She's now in a 6ftx2ft custom made enclosure, with an Arcadia D3 bulb and a ceramic heater. A 50/50 mix of top soil and play sand. The enclosure is fully planted, she constantly has access to fresh grass, weeds and we're...
