Hi ZippyButter,
Could you send me photos of your home and yard? How many other Sulcata's do you own? My sul does need a better home. Please send me a private message. :)
I have a shoulder injury, and am in a lot of pain. Scooping poop, picking up after her, feeding (when 80% of our yard is cement) is all too much work for me. I got her as a gift 8 years ago, so I was not prepared. I also can't carry her because of my shoulder, and sometimes it's necessary when...
I am still debating on giving her up but would be willing to what I feel is the "right" person. I would prefer someone in California. Thank you for reading my post! :)
Hi there!
I was looking into placing my Sulcata tortoise for adoption to the best home possible.
I have had her for 7 years, but now I am injured and unable to properly take care of her. I have fought to keep her for years, but I still feel she would be better off with someone else who could...
So today while feeding my Sulcata, I noticed her eyes looking strange. I won't be taking her to the vet until another week and I am really concerned and stressed. Her eyes looked like they were rolling back and I've never seen anything like this before. Does anyone know what this is?
She's...
Ok Thank you, Tom. I will stop using the UVB since its no longer necessary.
The temporary solution until we have her night box made is a portable heater. We have used one in the past and are currently warming up the room she is in with one. She has been spending a lot of her time sleeping and...
It sounds to me like my biggest mistake right now is still keeping her indoors at night. I need to have her outside then in order to use radiated heaters.
I suppose this situation is a big reason to do it asap.
Yes, I do and it gets turned off around 8p.m.
What is the problem with a UVB light? I was instructed here to use that when she was younger. She spends half of her day outside.
The house doesn't get very cold at night, but if it does our house heater turns on.
I forgot to mention that last April we took her to the vet and they didn't tell me too much to be honest...I wanted to know if her making noise when she breathes is normal. They gave me medication to give her which included having to give her injections in the armpit throughout a whole month...
I need to look up the symptoms of a URI.
I'm going to keep her extra warm and see how that helps.
I took a video of her, I just need to figure out how I can post it.
I am in San Diego. She sleeps in her indoor enclosure with a UVB light to keep her warm.
It's been sunny here but it has been windy the past couple of days. Perhaps, that is why she doesn't want to go out?
We got her to move 30 minutes ago and go outside for a bit, and she finally ate...
