What do you use for Burmese star's water containers?
Do you have the water containers that are big enough for the torts to walk and sit in?
Or just enough for them to drink from and you take them out to separate area for water baths?
I am looking for something that I can buy for this purpose...
The grocery stores in my area doesn't sell dandelions and endives are terribly expensive. Over the winter and into the spring, I'm finding myself resorting to Costco size bags of romaine for my torts. Yes I am aware they are not as nutritious as many other wild greens I can find in the summer...
Found this dried up work in my tort enclosure. I had fed them Levamisole last week so I'm assuming this was expelled from the med. Is anyone able to id this worm?
So my male hermanns seem to enjoy showing off their organs but it gets dragged a bit in the dirt/mulch/shavings of which will stick to their organs when they retract it. Should I be concern about the debris being sucked back in and creating some sort of infection? I can't imagine how it must...

I'm thinking of ways to increase fiber content of the mazuri mush I feed the torts. One way is I add Zoomed grassland pellets.
I was thinking about sprinkling chia seeds as well. Thoughts? I know the protein content is on the higher side for chia seeds but for the light sprinkling amount that...
I gave my stars (and hermanns) some spaghetti squash and they all went ballistic gobbling it up as if I had not fed them for months.
With Halloween coming up, there's going to be a lot of pumpkin squash available soon. So how often can I feed them squash?
I saw these storage boxes on sale in Costco and couldn't help but think how nice of a container it would be as an enclosure. The sides are rigid enough to screw bolts or screws which can make the mounting of a clear plexiglass or glass on mirror clips possible through a cutout or even mount uvb...
i have 3 juvenile Burmese stars in humid (85%+) and warm (82 min) enclosure. The ambient t5 bulb for the plants turns on first for about 1.5hrs (to simulate dawn) and then the basking MV uva/uvb bulb turns on for 8 hours for midday and then the t5 bulb turns off 1.5-2 hrs after basking light...
I'm planning to either use 2-3 inches of coconut coir chips or orchid bark for my torts. I got the idea from a fellow TFO member about putting superworms into the substrate as cleanup crew.
I'm canvassing for ideas on other critters to add to my substrate to help to with eating leftover foods...
Ive been reading that nettles are good foods for torts.. is this the same stinging nettles that i hate and are growing out of control on my property? If so im assuming the torts are immune to the painful stingers?

I've had this male for about 4 years. He's a proven male but his mate passed away last year. He keeps trying to mate with my female herman's so I would like him to go to a good home.
He eats most veggies and he will eat the dried Mazuri stuff if its presoaked and softened.
I am the 2nd owner...
