    Been awhile have a question

Hello all. Its been awhile since I have posted a thread. Things have been going very well with Smeagol and he has grown a ton. I do have a question tho....we can hear him breathing more now that he is larger. It is not a wheeze or labored breathing. His breath sounds are clear, he is very...

    Allergies?

I have a description for the breathing sound. Its sort of like when you listen to someone sleeping. Not snoring, just that faint, a little louder than normal breathing sound you make when you sleep. Now, reduce that to turtle size, then cut that in half. and you have it. sort of like that Clear.

    Allergies?

Hi all, been a bit but have a question. And, maybe this could be a possible answer for eye problems posted just before me. I have noticed now, twice in fact, that after Smeagol has been out for his grazing/sun walk in the field, his eye is tearing pretty bad. Just one. He also has a very...

    Edible flowers???

We purchased some "Edible Flowers" from the store thinking Smeagol would like them. However, I tried one of them and they had an unexpected hot aftertaste. They are meant for cakes, decorations, and salads and such. Are these OK to feed him, or not??? I thought it best to ask before giving...

    Food/Diet

I just found a great organic produce place up where we live. All sorts of good stuff in there. A bit pricey, but not too bad. Anyone have any experiance with wheat grass?

    Food/Diet

Outside food. Grass, dandelion greens, clovers, weeds, grass hay, and such should be 80% of his diet, then you can go to a good organic store and get your other greens (not iceberg lettuce) think ruff stuff. The hibiscus leaves are actually good and can be a part of that 80%. We go grocery...

    Baby sulcata help please!

Very cool of you to offer to help her. I'm sure if she logs in here she can get some help. It sounds as if some may be on the way from the replies so far posted. If her tort is too cold, it wont eat as he/she will need heat to metabolize the food. Plus not feeling well or having a respiratory or...

    Food/Diet

Hi, I'm a new owner myself, but from all of the good folks on this site and a lot of research, I have learned a lot. One thing I do know is that a soak a week for about 15 to 20 minutes is a good thing. He is probably drinking when your not watching, They actually use there water intake very...

    weight?

Just came in to get updated on everyone. I wish I could offer more, but on the cuttlebone my guy seams to really like it. I also had just scrapped a little powder over his greens to make sure he was getting it. He has gained a lot of weight in a fairly short period of time. Which is good as he...

    question

Its not crazy at all. The guys at the fire station rib me a little, but in fun. They know me, I have never been one for the "Mainstream" We Really love our Smeagol, and would not have it any other way. If you are really concerned, maybe you should take him into a good vet that knows their stuff...

    One more if I may

Thanks, that is what I needed to know. It has been over 65 when I have had him out, and now I am not quite as worried about the breeze. I do appreciate all the help, and I look forward to the day when I will be able to give back a time or two, and hopefully be even a smidgen as much help as you...

    Supplements

All good stuff...We went "Grocery shopping" the other day at the garden shop. Armed with the list of good plants and bad plants we got from the links that were provided in some of the replies. We were able to get a pretty good assortment. We also tossed in a cuttlebone from the pet store, which...

    One more if I may

Ive got one more question, or rather I need some clarification. As my tort just came out of an RI, I am a bit gun-shy to say the least. I know the ultimate goal is to get them outside permanently, and that is my intention. However, everything you read says a breeze is bad, yet at the same time...
