    Runt of the litter?

Argh I was told to feed everything but lettuce sparingly. I'll make some changes immediately, I feel like a terrible father. What do you recommend for protein? I will sometimes give her an egg, I'm thinking maybe some shredded chicken. Leftover rats? We don't keep a lot of meat for humans in...

    Runt of the litter?

Hi friends, it's been a while since I've posted here but gearing up for a vet visit in a couple months and I thought I'd see if anyone has some input. Our redfoot Pao is at least eight years old - maybe nine - we're not quite sure. She's only 7" long and weighs about a kilo. She's been about...

    The first foray

We don't have lights or heaters in place yet, but we thought we would let her ramble around for a few hours on a warm day. We also put in the humidifer. The scotch moss is not doing so hot, it might have to go as well. This is three weeks after planting, the grass has taken really well.

    The finished product!

Sooo the pointy fence didn't work out. Plan B: easily removable (if you have opposable thumbs) chickenwire hatch. The coleus did not take, so we're getting spider plants.

    Shady area

Hens and chicks, protected by plastic, and coleus - we're hoping that it takes and spreads and turns into a shady hide area for her.

    Is this shell rot?

Thanks, guys! She gets a soak daily, we'll make sure that we give her shell a little scrub next time. Our humidity ranges are good, usually on the high side if anything, the pyramiding was there when we got her a year ago and we're working on getting it smoothed out - she is doing better! It...

    Is this shell rot?

Okay, looked at other pictures, still not sure if this is shell rot or not - we are worried that we've been keeping the cool side of her enclosure too damp, there's been mold on her leftover food some mornings. Please take a look. Thank you for any advice!

Worried my little one is sick

Also, resting his head on your hand - could be a sign of affection. If our baby is warm and comfy and feeling good, she'll stretch out her head for petting. I totally understand being worried about not doing things right, but one thing I learned is that you have to give any changes you make...

Worried my little one is sick

Is he lethargic or just sleepy? I wouldn't panic just yet (okay panic a little) but if the habitat is okay then he might just have eaten a lot the first few days and now he has a food hangover. Also, they can take in water through their cloaca so if his butt has been in the water he's been...
