    COLD DARK ROOM

Good morning all, Big news today - IT'S DRY!!! (for now anyway):) My sister rang and they are back in the UK driving from Manchester airport, which surprised me because I didn't think they'd be home until Saturday - maybe they've been run out of Texas! :D 🤠 👮‍♀️ So Alfie will be going home...

    COLD DARK ROOM

No I don't think they did - went up a big tower in San Antonio and watched a lightening storm from there which sister said was fantastic. They are back in the UK now driving from the airport.

    COLD DARK ROOM

Good morning all, I was just going to take Alfie out and yet again the heavens opened and it's pouring down, so we'll have to wait. Yesterday there was a lovely sunny spell so we set off for a nice river walk but after a while the wind suddenly went mad - almost blew me over- and we were...

    COLD DARK ROOM

When they broadcast it from Cleveland I think they said they won't have another total eclipse for 400+ years - so I'm glad the clouds played ball and let people see it.

    COLD DARK ROOM

Good morning all. Wow the wind here has really been blowing a hooley all night and seems it will carry on for most of today. I feel really sorry for the nesting birds - they must have lost some eggs/chicks to it. I have to have a quick trip to my GP surgery today - they are after my blood! So...

    COLD DARK ROOM

They went especially for the eclipse. They were in Ca in January visiting their son who is based there with the RAF for a few years, and they all met up again in Texas last weekend. They plan to go to North Africa to see the total eclipse there in 2027.

    Solar Eclipse

I watched it live as it passed over different states on the NASA website. I loved the picture of the moon's shadow/umbra on the earth taken from the space station.

    COLD DARK ROOM

Good afternoon/evening all, a very exciting day for some members who managed to catch the eclipse. I haven't spoken to my sister yet so don't know if clouds spoilt their view - it's still a great experience though. I found it quite moving and I was only watching it online!! Good job I wasn't...

    COLD DARK ROOM

No - it was too cloudy and wet here, but I think there was a slim chance of catching it in West Wales if you were on high ground.

    COLD DARK ROOM

I watched it live on the NASA website so tracked it across states. Shame about the cloudy conditions but some places had a great view. It was very impressive and the shot from the space station showing the shadow/umbra of the moon on earth was incredible.

    COLD DARK ROOM

My husband and I had a waterbed, I loved him with all of my heart, I thought we'd be together forever but sadly we drifted apart. (A little ditty I wrote many years ago inspired by a waterbed shop that opened in one of our towns)

    Solar Eclipse

My sister and her family have travelled to Houston and San Antonio from the UK to see the total eclipse. We won't have another here until 2090. The last one we had in the UK was in August 1999. I climbed a local mountain for it and it was incredible to look down into the valley and see all...

I thought you were in the south west, but I see you're on the other side of the UK. Looks very pleasant there and hopefully you'll avoid the worse of the French storm coming in tomorrow.
