Today I went to the pittsburgh reptile show. I picked up 2 red tails for $60. Both are hypos. A male and female. The male's name is Venom sand the female is Hyper.
Well turns out I probably won't get a tort. The reason is I got a little surprise. A rottweiler puppy. A guy I know felt bad about the death of my Newfie, so he gave me a free rottweiler. I'm thinking of naming him Bandit.
I posted a similar thread in the sulcata forum but anyway, I went to the Cape May Zoo today and found they had a herd of juvenile Aldabra torts with a slightly larger juvenile Galapagos tortoise tagging along. They came up to me and ate out of my hand.
Ok so I just got back from the cape may zoo. It's a great place, but I was disappointed when I saw their sulcata. It was in a decent sized outdoor pen...but he was running(if torts can run) around the parimeter of his pen. There was no vegetation in the pen except a lone tree. I felt sorry for...

Also found some diamond back terrapins in these pools the day before

So as most of you know I am looking for a box turtle to adopt. Well our local pet shop has some red footed tortoises and a few leopards. I have some left over lumber so I can make the enclosure bigger. So which would you guys recommend?
So with our excessive number of raccoons and possums around we need to predator proof the pen. Could we just cover the top of the pen with chicken wire?
Well ever since I helped a boxie across the road I have been doing my research on keeping them as pets.
I was originally going to use a 150 gallon aquarium, then found out outdoor pens were far better. So now I am in the process of building a 4'x8' partial in ground pen. Now I was wondering if I...
